We've always loved peanut butters.
And Edmund loves burgers and has this zealous ravenousness to try all kinds of them. :))
And so, we just had to sample PB Co.'s peanut butter burgers. :9 We found a branch at SM Mall of Asia and decided to try their most basic peanut butter burger - PB Burger Sandwich. Just look at the photo from their website, the peanut butter's oozing. :9
(But peanut butter + mayonnaise? Hmmm, certainly not what you would normally do. :p )
But when the sandwich came at our table...

Kada Meow @ Lilac Street: Casa Feliz
(Please note that Casa Feliz is not situated along Lilac St. :p
Its complete address is at the end of this post. :) )
Last Sunday, September 9, 2012, was another food trip for our Kada. This time, Margot suggested to eat at our dearly beloved city, Marikina. :D
(I don't know for Dawn since she lives farther, but she must also love Marikina City because she keeps coming back to it just to see us. Hehe.)
Margot found a blog site that features eating places in Marikina and she decided that we should give Crazy Katsu and Spartea a try.
After our eventful lunch at Crazy Katsu, we walked to Spartea. Along the way, we saw many restaurants waiting for us to try.
Visiting this pastry shop was not really part of the plan, but since we're really a curious bunch and I desperately wanted to take home something for my mother, on we went into Casa Feliz. :D

Kiu Milk Tea is their signature milk tea. It has a smooth texture and a caramelized sugar taste. :) My Strawberry Green Tea has real strawberry bits! :D I am also glad that it went well with the egg pudding. :p

Coincidentally, Anika has been meaning to eat at Crazy Katsu as well but in UP Teachers' Village branch. She didn't know that there is a branch at Marikina until then.
So next to Margot, Anika was second in feeling super excited. :))
Margot, Dawn and I met at my house.
Kuya Marlon, Margot's ever-loyal and ever-trusted transportation service to almost anywhere she wants to go to since childhood, brought us to Crazy Katsu via his Magical Tricycle. :D
We arrived rather early at around 10:50AM and found the place still closed. They open at 11:00AM during Sundays. So we had to stay outside the restaurant and bask in the heat of the sun for several minutes or so. :p
Anika came late because of a family matter (which might involved a lot of packing up and carrying things around because they were transferring to a new village/subdivision) so the three of us decided to go ahead and eat first.
The menu, is comprised of only a few dishes. They even offer only one soup and only one dessert. (And of course, I got hooked into practicing my katakana and hiragana once again. Never mind the kanji. ROFL.) We tried Tonkatsu, Gyoza, Curry Rice and Pudding. :9

First Baking Attempt: Oreo Chocolate Cream Cheesecake
The result of my first baking attempt with Edmund and Alyssa. :D We followed the recipe from Kraft Foods. Well, not quite because Edmund and I can't find BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate in the grocery. We bought one 500g Dutche Chocolate Bar, which is the only available brand of chocolate for baking.
Alyssa was in charge of the crust. I can tell that she was well-suited for the job. She put all her strength into crushing the Oreo cookies - pounding it with the end of a butcher knife, and even pounding it with bare hands against the wall. :)) After ensuring that the Oreo biscuits were finely crushed, she baked it for 10 mins. Igniting the oven for the first time was very dangerous for us. :p A portion of Edmund's hair on his right hand got burned. -.- But the experience was still funny because of Alyssa's immediate reaction when the oven suddenly blew a large breath of fire as it sprang to life - she instantly backed-off and glued ala spider-woman against the wall behind her. :))
I was in charge of melting the big chocolate bar. I don't know but this is the same responsibility I got when I was still a freshman in high school and we were baking a chocolate cake during our Home Economics class. Haha! I laboriously melted the small-to-medium chunks of chocolate that Edmund chopped and occasionally put on the pan. The chocolate was melted through the steam produced from boiling water while constantly stirring the chunks of chocolate until it was completely in liquid form. From time to time, we can't resist dipping our fingers and tasting the melted chocolate. :9 It was very delicious. :9 Thumbs up for Dutche chocolate bars. :D
Lastly, Edmund was in charge of mixing the filling itself. :) He worked as a substitute to our future mixer. :)) He carefully measured the amount of sugar, vanilla, and cream cheese required for the filling. As mentioned above, he was also responsible in other slightly more demanding tasks as well like igniting the oven, chopping blocks of chocolate, putting and lifting pans off the hot oven or stove, etc.
Kada Meow at La Mesa Ecopark (= ^_ ^ =)
Meet-up at KFC.

We saw each other 9AM at KFC Concepcion. We also bought our lunch there. From left to right - Anika, Dawn, Kathleen, Margot. |
Taxi Ride to Ecopark.
We rode a taxi to Ecopark. During the ride, we were praying for a good weather every time that droplets of an impending strong rain were splattering the taxi's windshield. Funny how the clouds seemed to tease us by pouring at random intervals some of their accumulated water. :p
Luckily, upon arrival to the park, God granted us a very fine weather. :D
And Feels Like It's Our Own Paradise.
Also, thanks to the NBA Finals and the Pacquiao-Bradley fight, there were few people in the park. We can practically own a portion of the whole place.

And so, after eating our lunch we decided to invade the playground first. :D |

Next, we owned the [main] road and took jump shots until we perfected it and until our legs complain of the ordeal. :)) |
