SSAM @ 50: Come Loyal Benedictine Children

I certainly did!

Margot and I decided to attend the alumnae homecoming of St. Scholastica’s Academy Marikina (SSAM) last July 17, 2011. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of our alma mater.

Since we came at around 9:45am, we missed the Holy Mass which started at 9:00am. Naturally, most of the people were gathered at the venue for the mass, Sr. Imburg Covered Court (SICC).  Therefore, we took the opportunity to roam around the campus to take pictures! :D

We noticed A LOT of changes in the school!

Sigh

It's really annoying when a person claims that he/she is an adult but he/she acts like a kid.
And you just have to give way by saying 'Yeah alright', 'Ok fine'.
Or just say nothing at all!
Because you know better than listen and/or violently react to his/her matter-of-factly-know-it-all remarks.
Although, there are times when you just can't help yourself. >.<

'Nothing is more deceitful,' said Darcy, 'than the appearance of humility.
It is often only carelessness of opinion, and sometimes an indirect boast.'

CamSur Expedition Day 3: Goodbye and Thank You. See You Again Soon!

Last day na ito ng aming bakasyon. :) Pagkakataon na para magshopping ng pasalubong. :D

CamSur Expedition Day 2: Appreciating God's Wonders

Doon namin sasakyan ang first trip ng ferry going to Guijalo port.

Pero nalimutan yata nila na 2am sila nagpagising. Bakit daw kasi ang aga ko nambulabog. -.-'

Haha.

CamSur Expedition Day 1: I Flew, I Sang, I Posed for Freedom!

So sad.

Isinama ko na rin si Mama. Para naman makabakasyon din siya. Pero iniwan ko siya sa Tita ko. Hehe. =))

Paglabas namin ng opisina, weeee~ Kalayaan! Super long weekend! =))

Heto kami bago sumakay sa eroplano. :D

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was the second time I read this book.
But Snape's love for Lily and Dobby's loyalty to Harry still broke my heart. :(

Killer Addiction

Now he thought that the fault was his.

Too late because she would never open her eyes anymore. He would never see those tears again deliberately flowing from those pleading eyes. Her heart would never beat anymore. He would never hear its scared pounding as he succumbed to the manic soul laughing shrilly inside him. They were now a million miles away from each other.

She just went over to the other side. Too much for being together no matter what it may cost.

'Was it worth it?'

His voice was very distressed.

'Oh dear...Oh dear.. I'm sorry.'

He cried hard.

'I told you... I told you... I told you I'd just stay away...'

He felt his knees weaken from the despair and knelt down. Now on all fours, looking madly lost in his wide eyes, crying loudly as if it might wake his dead wife beside him, he banged his head on the floor. Until he died.

Swimming at Flamingoes Garden Resort

It's been a long while since my cousins and I went on an outing. The last time was around 14 years ago? Haha. You see, our families aren't fond of reunions. :p

I am the oldest but with only a few months difference in our first glimpses of the world. Reyna, Erlie, and I grew up together in the city, while Lara grew up in Bicol (Remember my entry about pili nuts? :) ).

Erlie suggested we try at Flamingoes, since it is nearest to our homes. It offers overnight swimming, and I actually insisted on that part because I didn't want to get sunburned again! The rates are affordable too - only 150Php/person for staying overnight. There are also a wide variety of cottages to choose from. You can even rent a mango tree (with arc benches below it) for two persons! =)) Seeing as we didn't have any plans about sleeping anyway, we chose a nipa hut for 4-5 persons amounting to 400Php. v^^ Bringing of food is also allowed.

Our bountiful dinner! Spaghetti, pininyahan, hotdogs, chicken, rice, french fries. Reyna and Erlie did the cooking, so my only contribution here was the juice. Hihi.

Cujo by Stephen King

CujoCujo by Stephen King

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The book is awesome. :D At first, I almost got dizzy with the abrupt changes in POVs and scenarios. It felt as if there were too many things happening at the same time. There were too many issues tackled - marriage, family life, motherhood. Eventually, all of them converged to make a very excellent story.

After making me feel afraid of what might happen to the characters when Cujo tried to attack them, King got me heavyhearted at these words: "It would perhaps not be amiss to point out that he had always tried to be a good dog. He had tried to do all the things his MAN and his WOMAN and most of all his BOY, had asked or expected of him. He would have died for them, if that had been required. He had never wanted to kill anybody. He had been struck by something, possibly destiny, or fate, or only a degenerative nerve disease called rabies. Free will was not a factor." :(

The ending was tragic. I felt sad at Tad's death and at his mother's futile attempts to save him. I also felt sad that Cujo had to die. :( I also have pets and I sure don't want the same thing to happen to them. But it can't be helped if Cujo had gone rabid. :(
